The first time we met Scotty asked me to replace the top which had lost the bridge and was highly distorted. This "Made In Spain" work of art had a plywood top, which was replaced with a beautiful old growth piece of Sitka from my friend and mentor Walter Lipton. The result was sublime. A few years after living in his office with the wood stove and no humidifier this old classical lost her bridge again, so I was asked to put a steel-string style pin bridge (he hated tying knots in his strings) on and refinish the top. It's not standard - but the tone remains just as nice as with the Hauser style birdge.
