Back in ‘73 Tim built his first guitar as an apprentice of Mike Millard. It blew his mind so he kept it as his own and brought her everywhere. Then life happened, and cracks appeared, the bridge pulled up and she got knocked over breaking the head stock off. It was an honor to finish up the restoration Tim had started.
Once we got the headstock epoxied in place (the middle had split along the 15 degree glue joint but the outsides were both splintered and pretty weak) I excavated the gnarly bits and laminated mahogany veneers into the pockets - sort of a form in place LVL beam.
One can never have too many guitars…
